Would an Unlocked google android phone work with the sim card of a pay as you go at&t

I'm trying to decide if I should buy a google android phone from e-bay but I need to know if it would even work with the SIM card of a pay as you go phone from at&t

SIM should work ok, but make sure it supports AT&T's 3G bands otherwise you'll be stuck with EDGE (2G) for data which is slooooow

If your talking about a tmobile g1, yes it will work on AT&T, just no 3g, edge only.
