Default The perfect Car mount/charger/3.5mm Setup

Feel free to share your setups.

So I had one of these for my ipod, and was looking for the longest time for one for my new G1.

Orion Gadgets is selling a Three in One (3-in-1) (charger/3.5mm cord)3-in-1 sync & charge cord so I can plug just one cord to my phone, and discreetly connect to my aux & power in my arm rest..

I'll update when I get it whether there is any noise due to the analog audio and the digital charging all in one cord creates too much noise interference, but I have my fingers crossed that it is quiet enough to be bearable and is offset by the convenience of one cord connection.

I plan to pair this with an arkon vent mount. Actually, the perfect mount would be the mounts that proclip usa makes, but they are 4x as expensive...

Wasn't sure if I could do that, I suppose if I get taken off, I'll just repost again without the links:

    3-in-1 charger/headphone/microphone

Arkon Vent Mount (it says specifically for g1, but when I get it, I'll probably find out it's a generic mount):

    Proclipusa

Rynosaur: Sorry, no outside store links.

fyi, the reason this is better than those other 3-in-1 is because of the length between the usb attachment to the phone and the charger/3.5mm ports, letting you discreetly set up the g1 in the car.

mine - Alpine headunit with cable going directly to Ipod in the glove box. i control it via the HU. My G1 sits snug in my center console so when I get a call I don't have to unplug everything and stop listening to music.

I find if you have a Mazda6 and the clear T-Mobile shell you can open the right stand on the snap on case then slide the stand into the metal bar that keeps the lid closed for the dash storage unit.

The phone stays up there quite well, I'd imagine it is exactly what MacGyver would do if all he had was a G1, the clear shell and a Mazda6.

I have been looking everywhere for the "prefect mount" and have yet to actually buy anything. Right now I have a 3.5mm jack into RCA plugs running into the back of my H/U. I either hold the phone in my lap or put it in the cup holder for now.
I occasionally use the splitter Tmo sent with the phone to charge/play music @ the same time. But I only due it in a pinch, because of the noise.
I wish pro clip would hurry up and come out with the a G1 clip

i tried to use that vent mount but it didn't really work for my car. my vents are kinda jacked up so i didn't think it would work but i tried anyway. i just mounted it to the dash with the adhesive disc. it works great but i keep wanting to put it somewhere else just to find that perfect spot. i have the 3-in-1 adaptor so i can charge and listen to my music via cassette adaptor (ghetto, i know).

    ripsphone..
pro clip does have a g1 clip! And it can rotate and also lets you still open your keyboard. It's AWESOME, just too expensive for me to buy myself..
