most likely the store used by AC.com is a third-party "do it yourself" store where you basically sign up and put it on your site and it's branded... they cant really control pricing!
If you notice smaller stores having higher prices that is definitely not the way they trying to get rich or something. Sometimes small stores have to pay more fees in the order to be licensed and authorized dealer for something like memory cards. More you sell in your store they more likely to offer you better package including price, volume of merchandise, etc.
Once you work the store out (newegg lets say, you get crazy deals).
Now, Android Store is selling the accessories for G1 because it's a MUST. Can you imagein an article in newspaper stating Android Store - no accessories for the first Android phone whatsoever?!?
I am not sure if I am right - but that's my thinking of the prices for the mcards
