anyone know a battery that has long running hours without having a battery extended back cover cuz I've seen them but not fond of the huge back cover, makes G1 looks like a brick, any suggestions please?

Yes. Seido makes a 1400mAh battery for the g1. You don't need another back cover to use it. It increases the battery life at least 20 - 40% for me.

Yes, the Seidio 1400 is a good battery. I have had one for 6 months and does give better performance than the stock battery.
