Thread: Buying big battery, what else?

Default Buying big battery, what else?

I am definitely buying the Seido battery I've seen talked about here that doubles life. But I know my current case won't fit it with the bigger battery cover. But while I order that I figured I'd go ahead and see what else to get.

So for the case I am curious if you know any leather cases, not holders but something that provides protection at all times.I am looking at the Krusell Orbit Flex Case and Windshield Mount. I don't know if it will fit with the battery pack though. Anyone know?

go to a T-mo store and try out all them cases there with your extended battery on your phone.

I don't know about this case, but I do know how I figured out what case to use with my G1. I had to figure it out myself as back when I got my G1 the "compatibility charts" usually didn't list the G1, of if they did they were incomplete.

What I did was this... find a case you're interested in (e.g. Krussel Orbit Flex). Find a list of phones that it claims will fit into it.

For each of those phones, look them up on Wikipedia (or Google) and get the dimensions of each of those phones, making note of the largest dimension you encounter of width, length, and height.

You then end up with the largest length, width, and height, that the holder will be certain to take.

Finally, measure your phone with the extended battery cover on it (or find a review of it that mentions the size - I've seen a few of these around), and figure out if it'll fit.

The problem with this is that there just aren't many phones (if any) these days that are as big as a G1 with the extended battery cover. So you may not be able to find a suitable case.

Thanks but the Krusell case I found was actually designed for the G1.

I would hope it would work as I want this mount too.

If I read it right, the mount should work with the clip in the case so I can change it from hip to windshield. This would be so great for me because I am ALWAYS missing calls when I drive because I can't hear it, even when I put it somewhere more audible. I could have a visual warning now instead(my truck is loud, old and ugly, but it's my baby ).

But I would think it should fit, if not snug. But I don't know if it's a good material and will eventually break at the seam or something.

They are great, and I use one, but they don't allow you to clip it to your belt, and they don't allow you to clip it onto parts of your car, which I believe are two requirements the OP specified.
