Most likely this batt is from China. While it could be a good batt, possibly made by the same company that currently makes the same one for HTC. Your taking a chance. I bought a extended batt for my T-mobile Dash off of Ebay and I never had any problems and it was from China. If you do decide to buy it, monitor it closely at first. Don't overcharge it until its gone through a few cycles. If your phone starts to act up or feels hot, pull the batt and go back to the old one.
If you want to save yourself the hassle just buy this one: http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy26tmg1-bk.htm
I know it cost more, but at least you know your getting a quality product from a reputable company. I have one and have never had a problem with it.

If you go to buy.com and search for oem g1 battery you'll see one for 12.98 delivered. For a spare that's not bad, probably the route I'm going to take.
Galaxy Nexus with rooted Thunderbolt as backup phone.
well I have 2 spare batteries lol but I rather have 1 last longer
