I wonder who will be the first to link it with ebay key words. that would be sweet.

Downloaded and installed it. It takes so long for my iPhone to translate a QR Code and it fails completely over half the time (after chugging away for a good 3-5 minutes each time). It took a fraction of a second on the G1 with this app and I've tried it over 2 dozen times already. Sweet!
If you don't know what QR Codes are, see this page.

You can use this page to generate your own and test the program with them.
I have a new website coming up (need to find someone to create a logo for me before I launch it) and when I get cards made, I'll definitely be looking to add a QR Code on the card.

Shop Savy is probably the best app in that department. Once I downloaded that, I really didn't pay attention to others.
Me and Android are officially connected.
wow, that's pretty cool, said found plain text and then showed your message on the screen.
This isn't the price comparison app, though. In Japan, you have QR codes on business cards to get a guy's e-mail address, phone number, etc. (without having to type any of it in on your phone to add him as a contact) On movie posters, you can scan the code and get a list of theaters within a certain mile radius of where you are now and the showtimes for the rest of the day at these theaters with the option to buy tickets on your phone. If it's an ad for something that just came out on DVD or a new book, the QR code can take you to amazon's site and let you login to your account to do a 1-click purchase of said item to have it shipped straight to your home. If you were at a game store, a QR code on a standee could give you a link to a webpage with extra content (wallpaper, unlockable character codes, ringtones, whatever)
EDIT: Was looking for something else, found this story. Neat!
Do you see the potential here? If Google really pushes the issue to make this a standard in the US for future phones...

yeah, im totally with you
I didnt know it was like this in Japan, but I was having a convo with a friend just yesterday about how we wished that EVERYTHING had a 2d barcode on it... Movie posters could be scanned to find release dates / show times, etc.
My business cards (new ones, just printed today) have a 2d barcode on the back of them! woohoo!
Thank you Priz!
I downloaded this and tried to install it but I keep getting "Install unsucessful"
