whats going on with the app market?

ok. before i say anything im letting you know im not complaing, im just making an observation, commenting on it, and seeing what you all think...

back in 2008 the app market got updated with new apps and updates to old apps like twice a day. i would check it in the morning and at night and something new would always be there.

now in 2009 not as much activity has been going on. (not that many new apps coming out, or the ones i have getting updated) now it seems like the market can go days before anything changes....

does any1 else think this?

Just today, bookmark updated (great app, should have been built in to the OS, but whatever), and also found PapiRiver has now arrived to the Android.

PapiJump is one of the best games for the G1, in my humble opinion, and PapiRiver is another pretty good game that uses the accelorameter and helps waste five, ten minutes.

That's from today... I pretty much find something almost every day, either a new game, app or update to something I use alot.

(tickr recently was updated to use the full screen. Nice program, the one major complaint I had was that the notification bar cut off some of the image... now that's been fixed)

LazyGenius - I have seen the same activity in the market if not more as far as apps being released. I cannot remember a day passing where there hasn't been at least 2 new apps every day. Now as far as them not being useless or just plain crap, is a different story. I think the better question is when is the market coming out of Beta.

i dont use any of those apps... maybe thats why...

It's good now. But i did remember it was in a bit of a rut a day or so a go...some apps came out but it was just like ehhhh

I totally agree with Constellanation.... I bet devs are waiting on the ability to charge for their apps.... If I were smart enough to code, *I* would wait....

But I havent noticed any delay in updates to my apps at all... I actually had to update like 3 of them today.

then it must be the apps im using because i check on a regular basis... and maybe it seems like no new apps are coming out because i automaticaly ignore "crap apps"
