wallpaper for android box

hi all,

im new to the android platform and would like to know how i can sharpen the image quality of the wallpaper.

from what i've learnt online, the trick behind creating the wallpaper for android is to double the length of its screen resolution due to the scrolling in between the different pages.

in my case, the android box's resolution is 1024 x 600 so i made the wallpaper to be 2048 X 600.
but the wallpaper doesn't seem sharp enough, can anyone enlighten me on this area?
