I'm using i tweet for twitter on my phone and FB, but is there one application that will allow you to update both sites at the same time?

Sure is: check out Pingdroid. This is a client for the Ping.fm service, so you will need to register there.

As well as Twitter & FB, it also supports a bunch (their site says "over 30") of other sites, like mySpace, flickr, bebo, google talk status...

This isn't a client for Twitter or FB, so you can't view your friends' updates or anything, but just for posting your own it's ace.

If you add the facebook app to your facebook profile you can set it up in the app settings to update your facebook status with your tweets...
