trying to download camline..

So I'm trying to download camline and if you go to the website its available to download. But only in a zip file fornmat. Is there a way to possibly upload the apk file to a website so I could download it from my phone? Is that illegal? Haha

Truthfully I'd hold off on downloading that....it looks like it was designed for use w/ the SDK which means it was designed for v.9 of the Android OS, not the v1.0 that comes on the G1...while it could work perfectly fine we've already had at least one report here on AC of pre-v1.0 software bricking the G1. Wait till they come out with a release that explicitly says its for 1.0 or when one shows up on the market.

I know you don't want to wait...neither do I...I want my damned video player and recorder apps too

Really? Bricking it? I read something somewhere of it "screwing up" the phone, but I never saw details of one being "bricked"... Not saying it didn't happen, just that I didnt see it...

I read "screwing up" as well...but when a phone won't come back up, can't be hard reset, etc, I think its pretty much bricked...don't you?

I saw that post im pretty sure the person brought it up in safe mode did a factory reset and it was fine thats quite a way from bricked. bricked is the red ring of death for the third time damm you microsoft damm you!!!!

Exactly. I think people throw the term "bricked" around way too lightly. I'm not saying that software causing you to have to do a hard reset, or anything else, isn't a big deal... but "bricked" literally means "made the device no more functional than a brick"

If you can get it working again... It's not bricked.

Edit: I installed an early version of iPod linux on my old iPod - bricked it... And I guess technically, I could have taken the HDD out and connected it to a computer, formatted it, etc... but short from physically taking the device apart... and voiding a warranty... It was bricked...

See, the post I read said he couldn't get the device back to a functional state, could be wrong though...and I know what bricked means Regardless, the point remains valid, doesn't it? A pre-release (v.9) application does have the potential to brick the phone if its doing something that it no longer should be...

People were reporting that they were able to get them installed...I'm not daring enough to check and see if what you say is truth
