I doubt it will happen, but who knows.
Besides, why use up your data plan when you can download it on a computer at probably quicker speeds and then just transfer the files(s) over to your G1?
Hell Yeah!
No Need!
What's a torrent?
Anyone know if someone is working on a torrent downloader like UTorrent or Azureus? Since we got an unzipper already this would be great.

I think it would be a cool feature...but I couldnt think of a time that I would ever use it.
Nevermind...would be good for music I suppose...un-copyrighted free to distribute music, that is.

I guess if you have an unlimited data plan using this app will not be an issue.
why you woulndn't just use your desktop or a better device I'll never know. I don't imagine there would be enough processor available to do ip filtering for it to be worthwhile. I'm pretty sure some idiot will make this though. I'd rather have a vpn/smb client so I can save .torrent files to an autoload directory instead of having to mail to myself. Plus it would decimate battery from having to be on all the time in a pretty awake status.
I could see it for small files you want quickly,a song, podcast or a book, but I've never needed a file so badly it couldn't wait for a pc.
1) The g1 does not hold a constant data connection when the screen sleeps (Drops 3g and Wifi)
2) The g1 may run out of memory decrypting the bit torrent data stream
3) The heat generated by your phone would cause additional global warming
4) I doubt the phone could handle more than 10 inbound/outbound connections
