Welcome to the A/C. Did you post your app in our app directory?
Hi,
We’ve developed an on-screen keyboard based on a totally new idea. We enlarge useful buttons and shrink useless ones, so buttons become really big and typing is very easy.
If you’re already typing fast on standard Android keyboard, ThickButtons will not add much. However, if you find typing inconvenient, or struggle to hit the right key, you will really enjoy ThickButtons.
And you can also check our demo video on YouTube to get better understanding of how app works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itIPS3U2bf8
It’s FREE. Android Market URL is market://search?q=pname:com.thickbuttons.
Currently 1.6+ platform version supported.
We are interested to know what was your experience with ThickButtons, so don’t be shy, we’re open to [constructive] criticism
Also, we promise to develop the most demanded features first, so be sure to vote for features at http://community.thickbuttons.com.

If is possible post some screen shots![]()
as i mentioned in my earlier thread about this I feel like the responsiveness is too slow. there is a lag in making the predictions.
I absolutely love the concept though, and feel this could be the best keyboard out there if the performance can be boosted somehow
BTW - I am using a Cliq, so I know I do not have the fastest processor available
This is a great idea. But why the need to read SMS and MMS messages?
As for privacy concerns...
ThickButtons uses your address book to suggest the names from to help you while you are typing. Here is some information on that at our users community http://community.thickbuttons.com/th...in_suggestions
We are respecting your privacy and do not store or transfer any of your personal information (including the text you are typing), please visit our Privacy Policy page for more information http://www.thickbuttons.com/index.php?f=privacy_policy
That explains the need for reading Contacts, which it also asks for. I assumed this was the case, but I still don't understand why it requests the privilege to read SMS and MMS messages as well.
I gave it a try out, in general it was cool. But the normal android keyboard on my n1 works better in understanding what I'm trying to say.
For example if i mistype a letter in a word, on the android keyboard it will still consider the word as an option, ignoring the fact that you mistyped one letter, and then once you complete the word it would spell it correctly.
ie- Typing 'Corrwction' mistyping an 'e' for a 'w' will still correct as 'Correction' on Android Keyboard.
But if I type the same into this app it a) mis-spells, b) cant analyse the word I'm trying to spell c) can't auto finish that word.
Thicker buttons may be a plus, but only if you combined it with the recognition ability of the default keyboard.
