Are you talking about task switcher as a concept or is there something now on the market?

the thing about task switcher though is that you cant actually end the processes which are running, you can only view and well, switch between them

it is useful though in a way because it lets you know exactly which apps stay open after you leave them.

and if you are that concerned about battery life you will then know to avoid those specific apps which stay running untill we have a real task manager ^_^

the weather channel being one of those haha

I thought that other programs (perhaps incorrectly called "tasks" by this app) do not really stay "open", and that they are not using up any resources. I downloaded this app, and saw a whole boatload of my previous apps showing. This surprises me quite a bit. Are we sure they are still running? If so, then it might explain why my battery dies before I can get anything done.

For one holding down the home key tells you what apps are running in the background.

If you actually go into Settings->Applications->Manage Applications and check them out there, there are ALOT of programs that start-up at boot up.

Default Ending running apps with Task Switcher

I think I've figured out how to end running apps! While in the Task Switcher, select one of the running apps and let it switch too that app on its own. After it switches keep pressing the back button until you get your home screen. Run the Task Switcher again and notice how may app are running now. Wash, rinse, repeat.

    I hope this helps.

Actually holding down home key lists 6 recent apps...and only six...

    Hi there.

Have you already tried TaskOS.. ?

It's a powerfull task switcher that has the missing options of "task switcher". ( kill an unwanted task, launch with notification, etc...)

The UI of task switcher is certainly better, but i am working hard on taskos.

Feel free to send me feedbacks.
