    HUMMINGBIRD
Hummingbird is your media to go solution; it is being developed to fulfill the need of streaming music, video and pictures to certified Android cell phones.
Hummingbird essentially lets you listen to your music, watch videos, and view photos anywhere in the world. No hard-drive or memory card is required to view, listen or watch your media files. However, performace increases with the presence of a media card or hard-drive.

currently in development...no app download available as of yet but its coming
    Hot DAYMN!!!

Unlike Orb & acouple other similar solutions, I'm guessing that this should be working for computers that just runs on a AMD or Intel... so a LINUX + Intel based server app is feasible without needing VMWare!!
Spring is upon us! Woo hoo!!

I just did a little write-up on my blog comparing 5 music streaming services. Here's a comparison chart I made to go along with it:

Still no perfect streaming service for Android phones (imo) but it's getting closer every day!

Doggcatcher for podcasts and streamfurrious for shoutcasts. Both in the market.

I tried out StreamFurious today but unfortunately I wasn't that impressed. The default stations are mostly low bitrate and not really my style of music. The G1 has Wifi, 3G, EDGE; all of which can easily handle a decent quality stream. Why are there so many 64kb stations and why can't I filter them out? (EDIT: just realized I can long-press a station to delete it)

When I did finally find a station I thought I'd like (ETN.fm Ch1, 256kb stream), I selected it then sat waiting for 1 minute 20 seconds while StreamFurious "prepared" me for the experience (i.e. it didn't play any music).

I tried the Search, but this just took me to the ShoutCast website. This looks terrible on the G1 and is difficult to navigate.

I appreciate StreamFurious is still Alpha software (one of the four menu options is for a Debug Menu) but I'm kinda disappointed with this, especially since it seems to have so many fans on this forum.

Also, I haven't found a specific Podcast app.. Am I not looking hard enough?
