I believe that android only starts the necessary tasks on start up all others start when launching applications. Don't fall for this crap, these are all crap apps guys if these phones needed these things at this point they would be in the phone when you buy it......oh wait... that's right, they are, its called android. These companies do everything they can to optimize these phones some Guy making apps on his computer is not going to reinvent this. Smart phones do not need dumb apps to tell them how to work. Do you think the inventor of the flushing toilet needed to be shown how to flush it?

What are you talking about? 3rd party apps definitely do run at startup. It all depends on how the app was written. I have maybe 12-15 apps that run at startup.

Not true...any developer can hook into the boot broadcast intent, and relaunch their service/app behind the scenes on start up. It requires a permission in the manifest however.

My own app (Volume Locker) starts up at boot time, but that's as designed and well known to the user.

So I need to install an app that runs at startup to keep other crap apps from starting. This is counter productive. Anything that starts on my phone I need running, then again I am not one of the people on here crying how my phone is slow. Hey good luck with those things.
