I rooted last night, the 'old, longer way'. I installed the apps onto my sd card using my PC, following the instructions here within this tutorial and that went super smoothly:
    http://www.webnetta.com/2009/01/02/t...rc30-to-jfv13/

The only difference is that you want to use this updated version 1.41 of the one file, instead of version 1.31
    http://jf.odiness.com/v1.41/JFv1.41_RC30.zip

Good luck! I got it done, the long way, with the help of the great people on this forum.

Copy all the file in the zip to the SD card. Make sure they are not in any folders.

Hey you say here to copy all the file to the sd card, but in your first post you say to extract the file to the card. So which one is it? Copy or extract? I found that confusing, just trying to look out for other people who read this.

P.S. This is so easy, I don't feel special anymore with my tutorial

    From the tutorial:

#4. Extract the DREAIMG.nbh file from the downloaded zip archive and copy it to your SD card.

    18. Download http://jf.nyquil.org/AndroidMod.zip (more information at the forum thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443041 ). In this zip archive, there is a file called recovery_testkeys.img . Mount your SD card on the computer again, and extract that file to the SD card.

    22. Take the zip file that you downloaded, and name it update.zip and put it in the root directory of the SD card. The latest zip file is this one:

U download then onto ur desktop, then copy them right to ur g1 sd card, u can right click on the file on ur computer and click on "extract to" put em on ur sd, make sure ur sd card is fat32 formated, mine was so, if u got a 4gig and up it shud b formated if not then do it, I never deleted any of my folders from the sd card, I left all my pics music etc, it still worked HOWEVER, make sure that. DREAMIMF.NBH. is not in any folder, dude this took me like 3 mins to root

yo guys, do check this site out for g1 skins, im not promoting this ****, i just found it cool cus they mad cheap

Also Just finished, worked like a charm. 2 questions, I renamed the
hard_spl_update file to just update for the modified bootloader, alt. S
to install but no skating androids?

Number 2, can I wipe the files off my sd card when I'm done?

    Thanks!
