    Default Retro Defense Lite

This game is awesome. Very challenging and fun... This will probably be my first buy on the market.

Has anybody else tried it? I've only managed to beat 18 waves so far.

I gave it damn near (but not quite) five stars on the market.

I wholeheartedly agree. Previously, I have been playing Spira Defence, but have been waiting for something more. This is one of the most polished things I have downloaded (along with Labyrinth Lite), not to mention challenging and fun.

I will purchase it, as long as it is a reasonable price.

I beat the 'demo'. Didn't take too long.

Appears to be your typical Tower Defense game.

There are really only 4 tower types that you can build.
3 of the 4 have 'Upgraded' versions that you can build. They appear to be more expensive versions of the base 3 that can be upgraded further. I will have to number crunch to get an actual comparison. Of course the level 3 version max upgraded would take less space than 5-6 normals max upgraded, but space wasn't an issue with the demo level.

The 'red' and the 'green' towers are almost identical. The red fires twice as fast but does have the damage. Once towers are upgraded to max level, range is not an issue. The caveat to that is that towers do half damage to targets of their own color. But if you have enough upgraded towers, it doesn't really matter.

The game desperately needs to control the phone's sleep status. Otherwise you have to make sure to tap the screen to prevent the phone from going into stand-by mode. Its also a little difficult placing the towers. Its like you have to tap the location, then the tower, then the location again. But its not a big issue as you control when the waves of targets come.

The levels appear pretty confined in size. This will lead to a very limited number of possible levels.

The game did force close on me a couple of times, but it saves its state, so you just have to reopen it. Annoying, but you don't really lose any progress. Also, the only way to exit the game is via the home button, which leaves it running in the background (I had to close it with task manager on my rooted phone).

Some items that would make the game better:
-Control phone status (prevent it from going into stand-by).
-Exit/Quit option (using the back button does nothing).
-Better tower placement controls (or at least more consistent).
-Fix additional Force Close issues (I was running 1.01, latest version).
-Differentiate the towers a little better. Maybe Red (laser) towers are always firing and do little damage vs the single shot greens.
-Nix the 6 'bigger' versions of the Red/Green/Blue towers and actually add in other types. Splash damage. Chain damage. Damage over time. etc.
    -Bigger levels

Overall, still a good game. I'm not sure if I would purchase it myself. The 'demo' is pretty much the entire game. The full version is just going to be more map options.

Good time killer, but it only took me about 20 minutes to clear the demo without losing any lives.

I very much agree with the limited possibilities due to the stage sizes. However, I can see this game getting a complete redesign. Either a scrolling device on-screen that would expand the level size, or even simple 3D graphic upgrades and a zoom feature. That would make things interesting, but maybe I maybe I am just fantasizing.

I found it to be much easier to control the tower placement with the trackball. It is my control of choice.

I believe that there could be more towers and enemies, and even obstacles. However, I still LOVE this game and it can potentially waste away many hours of boredom.

The update fixed the force close errors. I made a "game" state in Power Manager that forced the screen to stay awake so it wouldn't turn off while I was waiting for the wave to come through.

This is great - I love the retro look and sounds. I've never really played a Tower Defense game before, so its possible limitations don't really bother me. Looking forward to the full version!

Full version is 4.99. I plan to buy it.

For some reason, I can't even beat the #$%^ing demo! It seems that the wave patterns vary every time you restart, and I am often deprived of power-ups every time I start a new game. Hahaha...

But this game is killing so many hours, it's crazy!

I hope more great, simple games like this are produced in the near future...
