    Very cool..

But I've been desperately hoping for a way to tether from work. I can't install any applications on my computer (no admin rights) and the laptop here doesn't allow for any ad hoc connections..so neither this or the WiFi tethering app doesn't help for work purposes.

    Awesome app though.

You will, that's just a beta they're testing out. Look at the other versions of the same product. It's paid software.

No I won't. The beta works fine for me, I'll just use that if I need to tether my phone. I currently have no immediate need for this, but if I ever need it I'll use the beta. It didn't say anywhere if it was timebombed or not, but I'm guessing not. The final version might just have some bugs fixed and maybe some additional feature, not interested in either one, it worked fine for me in its current form.

This is exactly why we have to pay for stuff, no support. If it works, I will pay.

Can someone provide the .apk, please? I want to test Pdanet but don't use Windows, and I don't want to fire Wine only to launch an installer...

For some reason it doesn't seem as fast as the Wifi tethering, however PdaNet definitely did a great job making a seamless tethering app that doesn't require root access. I'm currently tethering my 1000he netbook to my G1 and its working pretty darn well.

    Freakin awesome.

I've used this for both Palm and Windows Mobile and it works great.

Stop being cheap and support developers who make things easy for us who don't care to root our phone. This software is an investment.
