Just kidding. This is very good news to me. I didn't bother searching this topic.
I'm very happy about this ^_^
Someone, months ago here, had put me down in the dumps that this won't happen.
I wonder if they are tracking the phone or SIM.

Google Chrome OS??
what if you clear your market or have to wipe the phone? will it still save your applications somewhere in the "cloud"
That will be interesting. When I rooted my phone, I backed up my apps with ASTRO.
I then reinstalled all my apps from the SD card via ASTRO. In doing so, the "My Downloads" in the Market App was empty.
As a result, I still don't get update notifications on everything unless it was something I previously upgraded from the Market. Once you upgrade an app from the Market, then it starts tracking in My Downloads.
So if I had purchased a bunch of apps via the Market, then wiped my phone and reinstalled from backup, then it seems like I would have lost the record of what I'd purchased.
Google will probably save them to your gmail, just like it's keeping track of your downloads. Each app will probably use the "EMEI?" number.
I just went into the market, downloaded an application, decided I didn't want it and uninstalled it. A pop-up came up and said that my purchase was saved to my phone and I could download it again at no charge. I have never seen this before and wanted to let everyone know. I read that paid app's were coming, I guess its going to be real soon.
really?? wow sounds interesting..
ALL White G1
Cupcake
Cyan 3.6.3
Hero Theme 1.4.5
apps 2 SD | 85 Mb free
Before you downloaded it, you didn't get any dialogue to the effect of "Are you sure you wish to purchase ____ for $____" ??
Do you have Google Wallet set up?
Woah. Interesting.
Edit: Oh, I just re-read original post, and am now assuming that it was a free app to begin with, they are just testing the dialogue.
Sorry for the nonsense question.
lol! Yes i think this was added with rc33! I've seen it too! It shouldnt be too long until we start getting paid apps on the market!
Loving my G1!
