Is there any way to make opera mini the default browser, so when I search in the google search widget it opens in opera not default browser. Thanks-

    1. Why OPERA MINI, the default is way better and even Steel is better. The interface (IMO) looks like the typical cell-phone web browser [so caged in haha]. But thats your prerogative.

    2. The GOOG SEARCH BAR will always be linked to the default browser.

I use opera because i can only access my work email in opera mini. It has its pluses, but I still prefer the default browser and Steel.

IMO im not a big fan of Opera mini, steel is Great, and so is the Stock explorer, Opera reminds me too much of Winmo and it looks so caged in and the UI is pretty poor i think !

    Just installed Opera Mini.
My first impression is that it is a clean interface and is indeed much faster than the default browser or Steel.
I'm not on 3G yet as I am in St. Louis.
Anyone who is on Edge and says Opera Mini isn't faster, is crazy. It's significantly faster.

Also, when exiting out of Opera Mini and going back to the home screen, it does not hang. Half of the time when I hit the home key while in the default browser or Steel, it hangs for up to 10 seconds before the home screen displays the icons. I have read others have had this issue as well. It doesn't do that with Opera Mini...so that's obviously a huge plus.

The only thing I don't like about it is you can't swipe your finger down the screen to scroll and let is scroll fast. After you remove you finger from the screen, it stops scrolling.

Other than that, it is the best browser available for Android so far. No question.

Last I used it the data entry method in opera mini did not "own". Every time I want to input text it cannot be done on page. It has to be opened in a separate window? Too time consuming and not very intuitive. I do agree that it was way faster than the Default or Steel, but the look, feel, and ease of use of Steel won me over.

I agree and I found it anoying when trying to input the grey security words that most websites are using. If I did not write it down, I could not remember the darn thing. Had to close out of it and remember it. Other than that, Opera was ok.
