opening .rar files on your android device

Greetings everyone, just thought i'd share this useful tip with you all that I just found out.

I download a lot of .rar files, and it sucks that android doesn't have a winrar like program yet, so what you would normally do is decompress the file on your computer and then transfer if to your device right?

Well try this out, download any .rar file you want from the internet to your G1, open up opera browser and point it at http://www.unzip.co.nr/

Upload the .rar and click the button

It will upload it to the site and then decompress it for you, then you can download the decompressed file and voila, bobs your uncle, your shiny file is ready for use.

What do you think?

thanks ima try this out, i usually download zip files for music or apps and i can open and install instead of having them on a computer.

It sure does. AndroZip unpacks rar files.

.. i do not think i was ready for you to put words in quotation marks. i'll think about what you really want when you put your search in quotes and try to return something that makes sense.

I've tried downloading a few zip viewers/apps. Sign in with gmail acct...did that. Now they all say, "TThere are noo android phones associated with this account" I'm trying to download something to an android tablet to open a zip file. This is getting extremely absurd.
