the notes application on the SK is great, there are even menu shortcuts to get to it. i think its a fairly safe to say that SOMEONE somewhere will kick that application right out. the question is, would you want to use it? it seems sort of redundant to have 'calendar' which is pretty well rounded, and then have 'notes' lost somewhere in your apps menu?
Yeah, I've been using the Google Notebook application for notes for now. And I created a shortcut on my home screen for it.
I would *really* like a native Notes application. I'm sure most would![]()
It would be fantastic if there was notebook application that would sync with google.com/notebook. if only i had the time to sit down and take a look at the sdk. Im just swamped with work. even a rudimentary one with save and delete would be pretty awesome..
Hey Genetic
Download the app "UpVise" from the Market... then, go to http://www.upvise.com/ and create an account.
It allows you to enter notes on your computer via the internet, and they're transfered to your G1. If you edit and or add notes via your G1, they are backed up to the internet site!
It also has a shopping program, which I really find useful. Create catagories, create items in each catagory (Milk, Bread, whatever) and from then on, you don't need to type in each item you need, simply go to the catagory the item is in, and put a check by that item, and it's added to your shopping list! Even allows you to mark what isle the item can be found in, at your local market.
For notes, UpVise has really been perfect for me! I HATE having to enter long notes on any cell phone, much prefer entering them on my computer, and having them automagically appear on my phone!
a post it note app would be cool, little yellow post it notes, that you can stick on the desktop

If the AK Notepad would support category or folders that would be the best program for me.
WOW, there's been a lot of development on Android note taking apps. I've compiled the best note apps I've found so far on my Android Users Howto Wiki page:
Android note taking applications
AK Notepad is clearly obsoleted by Note Me, which does have categories. On the other hand, it only support text notes, while Note Everything additionally supports voice notes and drawings. In the paid version, it also supports photo notes .

Have you checked out 3banana?
For me, the ability to add notes via my PC and have them sync, or to be able to view notes I"ve added on my Android from my PC is invaluable.
Unless I'm mistaken, none of the note apps you've listed provide that feature.
However, everyone may not find it as important as I do.
Nice Wiki page, dandv! I'm always looking for application suggestions and this is a good place to start. Thanks!
On the subject of note taking, I've tried several and have not been overly impressed, yet. Like Shel, I feel that automatic sync with the web is a must. To me, automatic synchronization is one of the beauties of Android. It's magic!
