No GMail notifications on my HTC Magic

Hi,

I bought a new HTC Magic three day ago. The first two days I got notifications everytime I received a new email in my Gmail account. But for some (unknown) reason it doesn't happen anymore!
What could cause this? Could it be related to installation of some applications?

Open up Gmail and check your notifications.

The "Email notifications" is checked. Is it possible to define the interval that GMail client will poll for new email?

Last time I had that issue on my G1 I unchecked it and then rechecked it. It was like the OS didn't recognize the check mark.

I tried unchecking it today, then sent an email to my gmail account from another mail account I have...and wait...and wait...for how long should I normally wait until my Magic will notify me about new emails?

RESOLUTION: For some reason the Auto-sync in Data Synchronization was not enabled When enabling it I got the notification back for GMail.

Woohoo, I've been there before and wondered why I wasn't getting them and low and behold they where turned off for some odd reason.
