i'm new here. My name is Mario, i'm a one-man-team from Austria developing games for fun for the android platform. As my resources are limited i rely on the feedback of others to make my games better. I know this post might be considered spam but all i want is some feedback on how you like the game and how well it runs on your handset. That said, take my apologies if this post is totally improper.
Newton is my first game for Android. It's a simple physics based game. It's your aim to guide a particle, shot by your particle gun, to a designated goal. This would be easy wouldn't there be obstacles in the way of the particle. To overcome those a couple of elements help you achiving the goal.
The version on the market is a Demo featuring 21 levels. Just search for Newton and it should pop up.
I'll close this message with a couple of screenshots and a big thank you if you read this far
*sigh*... I think I'll go spend some time with the family

Re: Newton
Really digging the game. the control of the gun could use a little fine tuning, maybe instead of the arrows just click the gun then drag the line up and down?
and something to keep the screen from dragging so easy (i like the ability to drag the screen alot, but it needs another trigger, i kept moving the screen when i was trying to move a pusher/puller or to get the gun directions.)
other then that i love games like this, good job! and thanks for sharing!
Thanks a bunch for giving it a try! You are right the controls still need some work. I love the idea of dragging the gun direction and will implement this asap. I'm not sure yet what todo about the camera movement. An additional button would make it worse i think as it'd clutter the screen to much. I'll try to come up with something.
Thanks again, very valuable feedback! If it's ok and doesn't count as spam i'll post updates here.
I wouldn't consider this spam & I love the game too. I think using "firing line" to aim is a good idea too. Buttons not precise enough. I would also like to see instructions in larger font. Easier to read. Also instructions cleared before firing.. Keep up the great work
I'll probably put the update online tomorrow. I'm still a bit uneasy about going the paid road. I have no idea how much i should ask for for this little game. Would 1.49-1.99€ for the full version with a level editor, upload functionality, online high scores and around 100 levels be to much to ask for? I have no experience with this kind of things so any pointers would be appreciated.
I didn't expect such a nice bunch of people here. I'll stop thanking you now
I worked a little on the graphical side of the game. I made all obstacles three dimensional the result can be seen below. Does this make the game look better? I'm really not sure. Of course i got to rework the other 2D elements now, namely the gun, the goal and the pullers/pushers.
Also, it eats a bit of performance. Instead of the steady 60fps i had previously i now am around 50-55fps depending on the level. Nothing you'd probably notice in game but still kinda sad
Any comments are more than welcome! I will push out the next update as soon as i have finished reworking the other elements.
