Forces closes upon sign-up in Hero build; please fix!

Hero isn't out, there is no point in a company spending time and money getting an app to work on a rom running on hardware it wasn't designed for. When you get a Hero and it still doesn't work, then you can ask.

Hey jayaustn,

There is a chance that the application may work with hero now - I just fixed an issue that was causing FORCE CLOSE errors for a very small number of users when they tried to start the application up.

Check out Install Instructions on YouMail forums for info on how to get the latest version.

I keep having a problem with it checking for new messages. I did not have polling on and I missed a call at 12:30 pm and did not get the message until 6:30pm. Now I am in hotwater with my sister because I was supposed to go help with something. Anyways, I now have polling on but it seems to drain the battery a bit faster.
I read that they had fixed this issue and they have not. Never had this problem with Phonefusion.

I guess this is a bit of a late reply, but actually, the Youmail app (like nearly every other) was designed for Android, not the G1. It would make little sense for developers -- especially of such a useful app -- to only make it compatible with one phone and one build. Whatever is causing the bug is likely not an issue with the phone hardware, and is probably something that can be fixed through coding. That way, when the Hero does launch, the app can be ready for all the new Hero owners to use. Make sense?

True, but theres no telling what the HTC sense ui will do with an android app. Probably nothing, but there is so much HTC coding underneath it, you never know what may break. But then that would only be with Rosie running, under it everything should be good.

Thanks Doug,

I reinstalled the app and it seems to work now. Not sure what the issue was. The batter does seemt to drain a bit faster but nothing I cannot deal with.
