Default New G1 Game - Mancala

    Hey guys,

I'm more of a web developer than a Java developer, so this game is for playing in the web browser, but I promise it's still pretty cool. I just spent a while programming Mancala, specifically for the G1 at my site, www.g1games.com.

For those of you who haven't heard of or played Mancala, I wrote up a brief synopsis on the page, but it's a fairly simple game and you can also look up the rules on wikipedia.

For those of you who have played Mancala, I'd love some feedback on your thoughts of the game.

At this point, I'm planning on making a multiplayer (2 people on the same g1) or online multiplayer, depending on how much interest is shown in it.

Either way, I'd love to hear what everyone has to say about the game. Let me know if you find any bugs, or somewhere where I may have gotten a rule incorrect.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Great job on Mancala! This looks very similar to the version I came up with when I was still in school about 8 years ago. LOL. It runs much faster now than it did back then.

Of course, my version didn't have the good messages that yours has. I like your Yahtzee, as well.

I wonder if we could download these pages to our sdcard and run them in the html viewer?

    Thanks for the reply.

Yep, you could certainly download them. I might just have to bundle up some of the games for download. I'll have to check on the licenses though, but I will probably do this.

Oh, and the funny thing is I had to slow it down a bit....otherwise it was too fast to know what was going on.

Edit: I'm looking into this now. Right now, I'd only have two games that I could distribute since they're the only two I've personally created from scratch. I need to figure out if there's a way to access the SD card from the browser...

What you should do is just write an app, store the HTML statically in the app, and then use the WebView.load() function with the markup in it. That way it runs all locally.

Yeah, I've thought about that...probably easier and a lot more accessible. Time to pull out the dev tools that I downloaded a while back :P

Woo, I bit the bullet with my hatred of Java and went ahead and made the app. It's available for download now.

You hate Java? OMG! How could you hate the bestest programming language/VM ever?

I like it. It doesn't rotate too well, I think you should add a menu button to rotate it so you can play it without the keyboard open (or turn on autorotate) or maybe have it permanently set to landscape.

I really want yahtzee on the G1, though. You may have to call it something different. How about androhtzee? LOL
