Default Music player with a "bookmark" function

I just got a Motorola Droid and I am loving it.

The only thing I am missing so far is the ability to mark my place in the middle of a long mp3 file. My Insignia MP3 player has a bookmark function that lets me save my place and come back to it. Much like a save game function.

Does anyone know if I can do that with my Droid as is and I just haven't figured out how or if there is a music app that will give me that functionality?

    Thanks.

i'm not having that problem. I load Howard Stern shows that are 5 hours long and they get bookmarked OK. Shut it off, start back at same place.

If I just shut it off then it starts back in the same place but what if you play a different file or switch to playing music. How do you get back to the place in the show that you left from?

Please try Astro Player. It has advanced bookmarking functionality for better audiobooks and podcasts support. Astro Player is available on the Android Market. It's still in beta and could be unstable. However, it's free during beta period. Any suggestions or opinions are welcomed. More info at www.astroplayer.com/forum

I do have one suggestion though after using it for a bit. It would be nice if there was an easy way to exit the app.

Thanks for the feedback. We use pause and back buttons in order to stop the app. If this is not convenient for you, let us know and we will add direct close process functionality (i.e. the exit button in the menu)

As it is now the app stays open in my notification bar. That is a good feature and I like that it does that when I am using it but it would be nice if there was a way to completely close the app and free up the memory when I am not using it.

    Thanks.
