    It is DOUBTFUL that Meebo would use the SMS gateway method of signing on to AIM/Y!M/MSN, but it is possible, if they wanted to.

    That being said, it would be counter-intuitive for them to code it this way, as there would be little benefit for the G1 customers to upgrade. A data-only connection is what I forsee them coding Meebo to use.

    Finally, a decent IM app for the G1. If it works correctly its gonna a huge key in getting Sidekick and Back Berry owner to buy a G1. With the sells of more G1s that's going to make Google update the Os sooner so we can finnally get rid of all these bugs. Plus Tmobile is going to be forced into revamping their 3G network.

    using msn on meebo app
    works great

    All IM services work via your data connection, so all of you who don't pay for unlimited text messages - this is a money saver, for sure.

    its pretty swish. there are a few omissions i wanna see gettin changed in the near future tho, such as :

    Contact names now showing (only shows email addresses, ICQ numbers etc)
    Status update (such as for Live messenger)
    Remembering Usernames and passwords (gotta re-type each login)
    IM sounds (changing the sound when receiving an IM)

    apart from that, the integration is good, the "always on" status is good and the icon in the task bar is pretty solid !

    When they said November 7th, they weren't kidding.
    I checked the market a little after midnight last night before I went to bed, and it was already in the market.
