Rooted G1? What version are you running?
Have you done any major changes to your phone lately?
So today I decided to DL GasBot and wanted to update ChompSMS, the downloads start, but then immediately say they were unsuccesful, all other date reliant apps (PureRSS for example) can still access and download information. I even tried connecting to WiFi but that didn't work. Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong or what I can do to get the Market to download?

Soft reset your phone, if that doesn't work...
Just wait it out, this happens a lot... just keep checking back

Try clearing the market cache
And how would I go about doing that in a non rooted android?
Sadly, there isn't currently a way to manually clear the cache from the Market app. Google is looking to add this into a future client update.
As it stands, this cache will be freed when your device gets low on disk space - so when you need it most you will get it back. But this isn't a good experience so hopefully it will be fixed soon.
