I noticed someone put out a "magic flute" app on the market, very similar to the one available for the iPhone.
Dev says access to your location (coarse) and network access is to provide data to advertisers.
I wasn't real happy about that, and in fact didn't install for that reason. I can understand either T-mobile or Google collecting location stats for various marketing reasons, etc. but they have stated policys and privacy terms for the end user.
I really don't think I want to provide such information to a 3rd party with no stated policy on how they may use the info, etc. Seems kinda shady to me.
not to mention, the app blows donkey ****
if you have a squeeky screen, you don't even have to blow into the mic, just make ur screen squeek and it will make a tune.
i uninstalled after about 20 seconds of looking at the app.
Black G1 - Dead Pixel
Replacement #1 - "B" key worked 70% of the time
Replacement # 2 - Lets Hope 3rd Phone's a charm!
The thing is that I rather like the idea. I've seen it on the iPhone and it's pretty neat. There are even YouTube videos out there of people out there who are playing entire songs on the thing, and they actually sound pretty good!
I think this particular app is just an early version that isn't mature yet for the G1, but I have to give the guy credit for attempting it. On that basis I don't want to poo-poo it outright.
I'm just irritated by the "ad" data collection.....in which case then I'd call it trash.
