A question and a problem with regard to locale:
the question: when ringer settings are changed manually (with the volume button) and then conflict with settings specified in locale for a given condition, which setting is in effect, and for how long? in other words, if i my locale conditions specify ring but i manually switch to silent, should the phone ring, and when will it switch back automatically?
the problem: my phone rings every time a call comes in, DESPITE settings indicating silent, vibrate. I have all of my (known) phone settings set to silent ring, vibrate. that includes
1) sound and display system settings set to silent mode OR ringer volume zero if not in silent mode.
2) vibrate icon present in the home page status bar
3) specified locale situation active (bold) with ring and notification volume zero and vibrate on (and no higher priority condition fulfilled)
4) default locale setting set to volume zero and vibrate on
5) and sometimes, i have all sound off via the slider on the unlock screen.
STILL, the phone rings loudly every time a call comes in. this obviously is a problem; i've had the phone ring (despite phone in silent setting) in a movie and several restaurants in the two weeks i've had the phone. what else can i do?
thanks in advance,
david
A small percentage of Droid users experience this bug if they have situations that use the Contact condition. Try disabling any Contact condition based situations as a temporary workaround.
