Limit Browser's and Market's cache?

I have a stock G1 running 1.6 and I have found that my browser and market applications are using large amounts of internal memory for their cache.
Anyone know a way to limit how much memeory they may use?
Or is there a way to make them cache the data on the sd card?

i think you will need to root if you want to alter the caches.

Well I heard its a good time to root, after I replace my phone from my warranty that is.
G1's don't go in pockets to well, or my jeans may bit a tight fit. Lol
