Default Latitude Not Keeping my Location up to date

Latitude is not Keeping my Location up to date, i thought from what i read about it was that it would determine your location when you placed/received a phone call to a text message and that you would not have to leave your GPS on all the time.

I believe you need to have your Cell Location turned on.

Not sure about it updating when you make a call or use SMS. I keep the GPS features enabled.

I have found that sometimes it still quits updating. My theory is that whatever background process does the updating is sometimes killed by the memory manager.

i'm not sure latitude was intended for real-time location. maybe i'm wrong, but in the meantime, if you want real-time location, try GPS Tracker / instamapper.com.

Yeah but it will not update my location but every now and then, like it may be stuck somewhere for a day or two before it updates.

cell location is in Settings -> Security & Location -> Use Wireless Networks.

yeah, i guess it would be nice if you could force location updates with latitude. i haven't noticed a serious lag. i just use the 'my location' button in maps.

or download an app called "useful switchers" and you can get to all useful settings in just a few clicks (or touches)

I'm also having the same problem with Latitude - I have to manually open Maps for it to update my location.

And yes, Latitude is supposed to provide real time location. The Blackberry version of Latitude updates its location every few minutes on its own.
