Default Get HTML source code for web pages?

I know most web pages are waaayyyyy more sophisticated now since I was desiging them with straight HTML. But for the more straightforward web pages, is there an option for the G1 browser (or a separate application) to be able to obtain and copy HTML source code?

Why would you ever want to view HTML markup on such a tiny screen?

I suppose one could write a tiny application that provided a WebView and a button to view the source, but no, the stock browser does not provide this functionality. I doubt Opera or the other mobile browsers do either.

I'm writing an app for Android that makes use of this capability (if it does exist) and I was wondering if it was possible as well...

As for it's uses... let's say that the your app needs to go online and search a specific string of text on the webpage. Since your device would naturally read and understand the HMTL code, it would straight be able to do that and report back whether it found it or not.

Now... this capability may not seem very interesting but if you tie it in with the greater scope of things... say a webpage that describes whether two sports teams have won or lost... depending on the HTML layout of the page, you might be able to search for "WIN/LOSE: " and then read the result and display it in your Android app and viola, you have one way of getting instant updates on your Android device.
