not necessarily. It's not easy, and takes lots of steps, but it is actually possible to get rid of IE...

I have been doing the Skyfire beta for a while, and have used the new Opera beta on my WM phone. I would like Firefox to work on an Android browser though.

More competition creates the need for more innovation.

If you're the only one, you have no reason to try hard.

The Internet Explorer on my computer doesn't even work. For sites that only support Internet Explorer, I have the IE tab for Firefox. This browser is simply the best.

But i'm not liking the look of the mobile one yet. I think i'll just stick to the WebKit.

I believe that Google webkit and Firefox will compete against each other for the betterment of each other. If one browser beats the other, then competing one will release something better in its next version. So on and so forth. If we didnt have competition we would be stucked with EI.

I wouldn't be surprised if FF used the Webkit as a launching pad to make the premiere browser for mobile phones as well.

I'm all up for the whole idea of giving people the choice of what browser they use, but I'm not going to go out of the way just to add Firefox onto the Android. I'm going to try out the browser that Android comes with first, as they seem to have done a good job with it from the videos I have seen, and if there's something I don't like, THEN I'll search for a better alternative.

But I have heard good things about many of the browsers mentioned like Chrome and Opera. I use Firefox on all of my PCs, just because to this day it hasn't failed me.

I really and truly believe that no matter what browser comes with Android, it'll be okay, as long as it's not Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is the most horrible browser it has ever been my displeasure to be forced to use for those couple of years before Firefox was released.

Internet Explorer really IS that bad.

Actually, Internet Explorer is fairly easy to uninstall. I have done it to all of my PCs.

Yes, I have seen a video on youtube somewhere that shows how it looks when downloading from the browser. A small window similar to the one in Firefox comes up and shows you the progress of your download and all.

thats where i would have to disagree with you on that. you do realize that you can completely uninstall IE from your add/remove programs right? it removes everything thats IE and only leaves the setup file on your PC thats the only thing thats left in your pc after you remove IE im a computer tech A+ certified ive been around windows since windows NT 3.1

yes i know you can do this, but internet explorer and its programming foundation is directly tied into the OS... this is fact... even though i dont' like IE either, i choose to leave it on my computer to prevent any issues in the future
