Facebook App

Hi Guys,

Quick question, what facebook app do you recomend/use?

I was just playing around with my friends iPod and have to say his facebook app that was built in really kicks arse, i'd even go as far to say that its better than the main facebook page itself.

I tried a few last night and my favourite one is Fbook. The problem i have is this is limited compared to the iPhones app and the status/new feed even when refreshed, miles out of date.

What is everyone else using? Are you just moaning like me a getting on with it?

If you go to your bookmarks in your browser there should be a link to facebook mobile, I use either Fbook or that link depending what I want to do. If I am just changing my status, reading a mail or replying to a friend request I use FBook, if you want to comment on a status or view.comment on pictures I use the link.

The iPhone one is better I agree but one will show up on Android soon. Do a search for Facebook in these forums and there is a topic full of answers for you on why we dont have one as good as the iphone, it was something to do with the people who develop Facebook I think they wrote the iphone app themselves because the iPhone was so popular, we think that once the android platform is established and Facebook see the demand they might take the time to write us our own app.

Who knows.

Correct, the iPhone app was made by the FB team and none of the apps we have were. I think FB and Google are having some sort of "battle" right now so the chances that we will see a facebook apps written by them is pretty slim at the moment

I use fBook for facebook itself and Fbabble for facebook chat. Like the others said, we don't have one big happy facebook app yet, but give it time. Stuff that I thought wouldn't show up for quite a while is so I can't imagine it'll be long before someone makes a decent facebook app.

Yes I think Facebook and Google are not on the friendliest of terms at the moment but when Android picks up some steam Facebook won't have a choice except to develop or at least help to create a good Facebook app for android.

Fbook - FBabble combo works well for me. Pretty much everything I need to do on facebook.

... and with Moov, typing anything at the homescreen gives your several corresponding options in Apps, Contacts, Music files on sdcard, FBook, Q, Local and Dail 0 in seperate tabs.

the new facebook API allows developers to access and alter the news feed, peoples walls etc
I currently use foo-book, it has the potential to be excellent if it uses the new API and uses the news feed rather than just the status updates

I like the look of the x.facebook.com site but the problems I have with it is I can't comment on statuses and I have a hard time putting in a recipients name to send a message so I use m.facebook.com.
