espeak android support chinese

Now, i m doing a project which is espeak android which can support
chinese language.
i followed the tutorial below this link:

I cloned the project from this link: http://code.google.com/p/eyes-free/source/checkout
I m using project "tts" then testing espeak with HelloWorld TTS(coding
from first link).

But when i added chinese character to the coding HelloWorld...espeak
failed to speak out the chinese word,
only english character can speak out.

Now, i m using eclipse and android2.2 emulator to run espeak.

Could anyone here help me to solve this problem?

I think UTF-8 is not taken into account in the code.
