I am new to Android, former BB user. Loving the Droid, but the email is giving me a headache. Gmail is fine, but the stock email client doesn't work. The thing gets stuck, forcing me to use ATK to kill it and restart the client to get my mail. It doesn't check every 15 minutes like it's supposed to and when it does download email, when I delete the message, it will download it again and again until I log in with Outlook and pull it off the server. I have received the same exact email more than 10 times in a day.
I've read numerous posts about people having the same type of problems and I keep seeing references to the K9 email app. My problem is that I'm not very trusting when it comes to security. My only question...Is K9 safe? What I mean by that, should I worry that the developer of the app would somehow have built in a way to access my emails? In a world of spyware and everything else, I just like to be careful with something as sensitive as email.
I used it for a while, and it seems to have a fairly popular following. I doubt anyone would go to the trouble of tapping email. Currently using Seven from a company that is pretty well known. You might try it, the Android version is free. Here's a review with a link in the text to the download page.
