okay, maybe you can help.

couple of issues:

1. I want to use ChompSMS. However, even though I 'kill' the standard "messaging" app using "Terminator", I still get two notifications when I get a text.

2. How can i change the clock on the main screen?

Have you tried looking at developer sites like http://wiki.xda-developers.com and scroll to find your phone.

You could uninstall the standard Messaging app, I suppose. Not sure how you'd ever get it back if you wanted it again. I don't think it's available in the market.
