    Exclamation Desktop Manager APP needed!

What we honestly need is a Desktop Manager sort of Application that lets us transfer/manage songs, ringtones, videos, and pictures from our device to to our desktop. Also Synchronizing our mail, messages, contacts, calendar, and other organizer data. It should also include a Backup and Restore so we can save profiles and data and revert back if needed. And/or an application loader. Or they could just make a mandatory OTA update for an APP installer like the iphone has that automatically lets us know if there is an update for APPS, whether or not you want to install it, organizes all our APPS etc. Mainly i want a Desktop Manager. I noticed that you can't change GMAIL accounts you're locked in once you put it in, and tahts the only GMAIL account you can use under the gmail mail. I later made an account just for emails straight to my phone but i'd have to factory reset the phone which would whipe all my data and contacts and then i could re-enter my google info but with my GMAIL accnt i want to use for my phone but i'd have to put in all my contacts again. Thats the only hassle part i don't want to go through, i don't mind redownloading the APPS, going to all the wi-fi locations and entering the pw keys, customizing my desktop the way i want it to be, that would take a second. I just don't want to have to go through all my contacts again. And whats lame is you can't export the contacts to your SIM either...

We need a backup app also, I just did a reset and aside from setting the phone up and reinstalling apps, and the wireless, there's also bookmarks, playlists all app data that's not stored on the card, bluetooth devices etc. My restore took 3 hours, yea I made a few changes for the better but I didn't need the headache and I lost some data I can never get back......

Did you have to re-enter all your contacts too? I can see it now, work, mobile, home, home email, work email, map address, IM screen names, ringtones. Headache just thinking about it. I don't want a mean hxc headache. Oh and yea the backup & restore application should be included in that desktop manager.

You don't have to update your contact info if you reset your phone. I exchanged phones and once I put my email in, all my contact info was synced. Kinda happy about that .

No your contact come over from your desktop. However I am screwing up my contacts and calendar by a sync between Outlook and Google so a backup for them also would be good.

Oh I was thinking importing contact from a previous G1. I moved over my contacts from my Wing using Outlook and Gmail. Export to CSV and then import in gmail. There is a tutorial around here on how to do it.
