craigsnotifica - craigslists notifications

Hi,

I've developed this app called "craigsnotifica" or "craigslists notification". Basically it pools craigslists to notify you when new stuff is posted.

I never tested the app outside of the emulator because i don't have a real android phone , so feedbacks are very welcome and the only way to improve the app.

I discovered cyrket after the app was already done, so i didn't knew that there were other similar apps in the market

In the last release i've worked to support multiple regions. If anyone has feedback on this it would be great.

Before I was querying from the app to my server and from my server to craigslists in order to gzip the response with only the necessary and updated information. The problem was that craigslists started to cap the network traffic from my server so i had to change the android app in order to call craigslists directely, making it slower to download and process. I hope that someone can give me some feedback here, about how slow the app is?

If anyone has ideas about how to improve it, please respond here or write it to me at craigslist-notification@mufumbo.com ... I have tried to develop most of the features that the users requested, including:
- download of images;
- multi regions;
- send email directly;

The problem was that craigslists started to cap the network traffic from my server

That is because Craig is against apps like this and has blocked similar attempts by desktop widgets and smartphones

Too bad though, I'd love to have a different way to access CList

I've made an work around by calling CL servers directly, by the cost of more bandwidth spending on the app side. I hope that it will work fine because it's the phones who are accessing CL directly..

Also i wasn't support multi regions to follow CL way and to be as closer as possible to the website... but i guess that for them it doesn't matter at all, they probably just don't care or don't have time to care, so i implemented it anyway.
