i'd like to get reviews for the steel browser. i didn't find any when i searched, so if there are some please point me to them.
i downloaded steel but it was so unresponsive and difficult to figure out that i uninstalled it. i was hoping for a better browser than the one that comes on the G1. it's not bad, but not great either.
one issue with the built in browser that i noticed is that when i am viewing email from my hotmail account, it gets cut off about half way down the page which is odd. so i can not see the whole message unless it is very short.

go to appvee.com click on android, I bet there's one there.
Steel is cool...initially i thought it was faster than the built-in but upon further testing I find that they are exactly the same speed wise.
I like the use of the accelerometer an excellent feature. I find that the VK is good, but for some reason when I hit the letter M it doesn't show up unless I hit it like three times.
It's had a lot of bug fixes and is much better than before.
I like the fact that I can click on the banner with the url and just enter a url, instead of having to hit menu then go to url then enter it in. However, when I click on the arrows at the top and bottom of the screen it sometimes doesn't show the bars except if I hit once or twice.
Another glitch I noticed is when I enter a number of URL's it does a google search for the url instead of going to the url.
It's just a nice alternative to the built in.
The only thing I like about the steel app is the virtual keyboard.
It works very well. The autorotate is pretty kewl too.
I just don't like
-Lack of effectively clearing history/cache
-(seems slower to me)
-cannot do multiple pages
It's a nice alternative browser though.
Once the cupcake app comes out though then the default will be pretty useful..
Although if you want to use a browser with the fastest speeds... go with
Opera Mini
It's called a G1
steel is cool. Its got the vk. Which is great for about 2 weeks, then i strated to realize how much i dont like vks compared to the physical G1...comin from my experience with my ipod touch compared to my G1.
-steel also seemed a bit slower at loading pages, i like having my zoom options and full page option right there instead of having to push the little side tab to do it...
-steel is cool but after a while it gets old and slow and im perfectly content with the android browser![]()
You might check out Opera browser, as well.
I find scrolling is amazingly quick with Opera, definitely faster then the built in browser.
Download Opera and try it out... you can always delete it, if you don't find it useful.
Yeah opera is good, but I find it that it loads a little too slow for me even with full signal and 3g. I'll stick with the default
Seems like the Stock Browser wins over all

are you guys crazy im actually typing this from the steal browser right ever since i first laid eyes on steel i've never looked back once cupcake hit mabe it will be a diff story but as of right now theres no comparison the auto rotate alone is reason enough to switch and how dare any of you mention opra mini in the same breath as the default or steel that is simply the worse browser i have ever used its slow lackluster response to the touch the worst scroll on any touch screen THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN so please people stop trying to up sell opra becuase it trully is TRASHand as for the default its cool but untill cup cake arrives steel will remain KING typing from VK On STEEL.
