it's not a crap drawing. interesting idea.
(paraphrasing a message I have sent Bratag detailing this idea, thought I would also share it with the forums, to see what other people think)
Recently saw Bratag's launcher dock app on the market, and I am impressed by his ingenuity and lateral thinking, makes for some impressive applications / widgets.
BUT I do feel it can improve greatly, at least in my opinion.
Basically, I believe the widget should work in the 'full' mode, rather than having an icon which needs to be clicked.
And it should be placed with the centre of the circle just below the bottom of the screen, so only about a third of the widget can be seen on the bottom of the screen, maybe 2 out of the 8 apps. These apps would appear above the tab at the bottom of the screen, so the tab can still be used, and the tab and widget dont interfere with each other.
Now, since only 2 apps out of the 8 are visible, allowing the widget to rotate, and so the other apps to then appear on the screen is quite an elegant way for it to take up so little screen space, but still give you access to 8 oft used apps / games.
I have made a quite crap simple pain drawing to show you what I have in mind, please take a look to clarify what I have written.
Any thoughts?

cool idea
and while I respect bratag for his dev'n ways, I don't like this widget.
Why?
1) I can only add apps that I've dl to my phone and
2) can't use bettercut to change the icon
otherwise great potential

its a good app.. im interested in what he will include in the future.
Yea that actually looks like something I've been trying to get Better Android to implement in their Open Home app.
I think the appearance of your wheel is more eyecandy for your idea.
Have a closed horizontal loop, taking up 2-4 icons spaces.
Just like open home but without the home replacement.

The horizontal loop is an alternative, but I believe the circular design will look more elegant, with the apps 'spinning' into view, with the app drawer underneath, and it almost looks as if the centre of the circle is the trackball itself.
It also fits with what Bratag has made at the moment, just repositioned on, or in this case off, the screen.
