Lightbulb Bar Control (Quick Shortcut App)

    Bar Control
    Price: FREE

    Download from phone:

Want a cleaner homescreen without the cluttering of those ugly icons on your desktop, well Bar Control allows you to put links to apps in the notification bar (status bar). This allows you to switch to your most used apps quicker without going to the home screen.

(Click on an app again to remove the notification)

    Screenshots:

    Review:

    Pros:

    - Cleans up homescreen / desktop
    - Easy to use app
    - Quick access to your most used apps in the notification bar
    - Option to see icons / hide them in the notification bar

    Cons:

    - Can't change icons only use icon set available
    - Can't rename apps in notification bar
    - Can't arrange them properly as you want them to

Overall, I give them app 4/5 stars, its a quick and convenient way for users that want to have that "clean look" for their desktop and remove all those icons and just have access to their most used apps in the ease of pulling down the notification bar :]

I'm hoping in the future the dev can help resolve some of the cons I found and fix those and this will be a 5 star app and its FREE

I did, though, remember seeing an app on this forum about an app that uses pictures from your Flickr to show on your G1's locked screen without needing a rooted phone.. but I could be wrong
