App to switch accounts

Does anyone know of an app (or a simple method) to easily switch Google accounts in G1?

Solutions like http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f...-solved-10584/ don't quite cut it for me - I don't want to switch to an account once, but to switch between two accounts frequently - I have one for work, professional relationships and such, and the other for my friends, and I try to keep the two worlds apart, not letting job intrude in my private life and avoiding accidental sending a CC of confidential business info to 100 pals all over the country. This has proven quite useful and not really a problem until I got my G1.

So, "work account" in the morning, "private account" in the evenings and on weekends. Different people to see my location in Latitude, different kind of emails get delivered, a different set of bookmarks for the browser...

The phone is rooted, running Cyanogen so no problem if the app requires that.

I know 2.1 supports multiple accounts -- might be the only way to do it properly.

Thanks. I'm afraid though that running 2.1 on G1 without some good hardware upgrades is not a very good idea.

You might be able to get the latest Gmail .apk file from 2.1 working on an older version. I might attempt it with my G1 a bit later.

2.1 sounds in line with your needs however. If only hardware was free

I was wondering that to since I have two gmail accounts that I use frequently. I had 2.1 and went back down to 1.6 for speed and functionality reasons but I wish I could've kept the gmail from 2.1.
If anyone gets that .apk to function on 1.6 please let me know.

I guess this seems like a good thread for "Application ideas".
(my phone is slow enough already with what I have on it... 2.1 sounds very tempting but not on G1...)
