Andriod update icon

I did just get a update icon on Android in the status bar. But because I was on 2G I did press the back button after I did start it and I lost the icon, it at least has not re-appeared now

Where can I find the update icon, or the update feature of the Android ? This was OTA update I think. But I do not know if it was update for Android or just a app that Android has. The only update that I have found is based on a file on the microSD card in the phone him self, not over OTA like that was seeing before.

To check for system update:
Menu>Settings>About Phone>System Updates

To check for app updates:
Open the Market>Click the Downloads Tab>Apps with updates will be listed at the top

The first one doesn't apply, as the system update is actually located in Settings-> SD Card & phone storage > Internal phone storage > Upgrade

But the second adviced did work.

Yeah - was the 2nd one, because system updates don't show an icon, they show a huge popup on the screen that you just can't miss.
