Lightbulb A potential candidate for an Android PDF Reader

I personally use Foxit PDF reader on my desktop and I was searching their site to see what they offered in the mobile world. They do have a version for Windows Mobile and WinCE. I also noticed they have a version for embedded Linux! This could be the starting point for Android. If enough folks ask them to do it, Foxit may just create a reader for us and sell it in the marketplace.

Are you talking about MultiReader? I tried it, but it took 5 minutes to load up a 35 page document. It is way too slow and should only load up a few pages at a time (like the acrobat plugin does on a pc webbrowser). It also crashed on me a few times and when I installed it, it put two icons in my applications dock.

Foxit makes a really good, lightweight pdf viewer for Windows. I think they could do the same for android.

Yeah, and then you'd have thousands of whiners bitching about having to pay for it, which would in turn piss off FoxIt. If you couldn't tell I really hate the state of the market right now.

I agree on the bitching part. What is with the comments on the Marketplace as well? I cannot believe some of the things that people post. There are one or two guys who keep asking ladies to hit them up. I'd like to hit them up with my foot in their asses.

What we really need is like the gmail goggles app for the marketplace comments. We need a way to ascertain the mental age of a person.

Honestly, I would pay for a good pdf reader. I would also pay for a good NES and Gameboy emulator.

OK, I found JETCET PDF in the Marketplace last night and tried it out. Much better than MulitReader, but still not quite where we need to be. At least I can read documents, though. It's a great start!

To get rid of stupid comments:

select comment (long press) and select "Mark as spam".

Lets hit them with couple of spam reports and see does it help.

    cheers,

    Hello all,

Foxit say they have been working on it, see http://forums.foxitsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=13622

Those free readers do not seem to work too well, I would pay for a good professional reader as well.
