3G / wifi monitoring tools that stay on top of page

Does anyone know of any 3G / wifi monitoring tools that has little icons that stay on top of the phone, rather than taking up the whole screen?

If this topic has been discussed before, please guide me to it.

What do you mean by "Monitoring Tools"? Android already has icons that stay at the top of the screen by default that show if you're connected to WiFi, 2G, Edge, 3G, and their signal strengths.
