Some apps that I use are pushed out of memory and do not stay active. The way the Android OS is made, it makes room for new apps on the fly.

In the latest Cyanogen ROM, there is an option added in spare parts to keep home in memory. This helps to get rid of the lag when returning to the homescreen.

I am wondering if there is an app out there that will do this with another app. Keep the app in memory so that it stays active. Anyone know of an app out here that accomplishes this?

For some reason any new email from my Gmail account is showing up in the "Gmail" application only and not in "Mail". This is an intermittent issue - it will work as expected for days and then this problem will surface. The only way I have been able to temporarily solve it is to do a hard reset of the phone.

I need a way to disable or delete the Gmail app. I want to be able to use Mail exclusively.

Is this possible? Can anyone help?

Thanks

Not sure if ALL of this goes here, but I'm sure at least one of them does. lol

I was wondering, first off, if there were a way to set YouTube on Sprints HTC Hero to always play videos in high quality. I really like how smooth it plays them on high, but I hate that I have to set it every time I go to watch another video.

I was also wondering if there were any apps that would allow me to turn off the trackball light. I use my phone sometimes after I turn my lights off for the night, but when that little trackball light comes on whenever I have to hit one of the hard buttons, it's like someone's hitting the back of my brain pan with a bright flashlight. I wouldn't mind being able to have an option to just turn that little bugger off altogether.

Also... Is there any way to either turn off or hide the call history? I hit the Phone button, and anyone that is in my history isn't in my contacts until I delete the history.

If this isn't the right place to be asking any of these questions, please do tell me where I should be asking them. I'm just not sure who's app YouTube is, but I believe it belongs to the Android platform.

As for the trackball light, I'm almost sure it's a hardware setting thing, and belongs with HTC, but as I'm a little new to this, I'm not totally sure who to tell about what.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get. ^^
